    BIG NEWS IN SMALL PIES

A real farmer’s market pie is now available to buy in supermarkets and gourmet food retail outlets.

The I LOVE PIES story comes from humble beginnings, starting out as a stall at the Clevedon Farmer’s market in Auckland five years ago. The food company was founded on the belief that New Zealanders are hungry for a great pie.

“Kiwis love pies,” says Maree Glading, co-founder of I LOVE PIES. “They’re part of the Kiwi diet, they’re warm and comforting, and the perfect on-the-go-food. Yet for all that, people are often left disappointed with what they find on offer.”

Maree says the pies use fresh, quality New Zealand-grown ingredients, nothing artificial and fillings good enough to be eaten on their own.

The small pie range, previously only sold at farmers markets, are now available in the top selling I LOVE PIES flavours; Angus Beef & Rosemary, Angus Beef Mince & Mozzarella Cheese and Free Range Chicken Leek & Mustard. The small pies are sold in individual boxes and are perfect for when you want a meal for one person or when everyone in the family want different flavours.

Ingredients are sourced from growers and farmers who care about their food like we do, including Angus Beef and Free-Range chicken.

Another point of difference is their pastry, made with sour cream and real butter as opposed to the margarine and other additives and preservatives used by producers of mass-produced pies. I LOVE PIES pies also come with a signature pastry heart topping each handmade pie.

“We don’t cut any corners. Each pie is made by hand using real ingredients, fresh vegetables and herbs and lovely quality meat, the kind of stuff you cook with at home,” says Jessie Stanley the other co-founder of I LOVE PIES.

Available from selected supermarkets, gourmet food stores and delis, RRP $4.99.
