Have your Longest Drink in Town, at home

If you're like me, you'll remember lots of hot summer days, slurping on a creamy milkshake from the corner dairy. Chances are, that the cup that you were holding was one of those much-loved Longest Drink in Town cups.

I discovered the other day, that there are now reusable Longest Drink cups available! Maybe I've been hiding under a rock, not knowing this but I was rather excited about this find. Made from durable plastic, they are bound to last you the longest time. They look exactly like the disposable version, right down to the last detail and you can even use those milkshake lids on this version too.

And if you can't get enough of The Longest Drink in Town, you can get tshirts, tea towels, magnets and even kids' growth charts from The Longest Drink website, all adorned with The Longest Drink graphics.

But back to the cups, they are sold in packs of four in a tetra-pak style carton, so you and three friends can have milkshake drinking races. Being plastic, they're easy to wash and you can even mix your milkshakes with a stick blender in the cup itself - that means less washing up!

These make ideal presents, so if you haven't done your Christmas shopping yet... don't forget to include a packet of straws with the present and maybe the lucky recipient will get the hint and you a milkshake.

The folks at The Longest Drink in Town are sharing their favourite shake with us. It's perfect for summer and is d'lish.

The Longest Drink in Town's strawberry smoothie

Ingredients

6 large fresh strawberries
1/2 cup of your favourite yoghurt
1/2 cup of vanilla or strawberry ice cream
1/2 cup of milk

Directions
  1. Blend strawberries and milk first until well blended
  2. Add ice cream and yoghurt and blend for just a bit so smoothie remains thick

Note: This recipe half-fills the Longest Drink cup (it has a whopping 700ml capacity), so double the recipe if you want that big milkshake experience.

Competition

This competition has now closed. Congratulations to Kevin who won the Longest Drink prize.
What is your favourite milkshake or smoothie flavour?

(extra warm fuzzies to those who include a recipe too)

we do exactly as the above recipe-strawberry smoothie......sometimes we add milo or chocolate sauce for a 'chocolatey' flavour!

    Rose and strawberry surprise!
2 scoops of vanilla or strawberry ice cream
    200mls milk
    1 hand full of strawberries
1 teaspoon of rose water (found in Indian stores)

    Blend all together and enjoy!
You can replace the ice cream with yogurt and add a little less milk for an even healthier shake. Add even more rose water if you like the taste.
